What MDConnect actually replaces
Research shows that 50–90% of a supervised brushing programme's budget goes on staffing. A significant proportion of that staff time is consumed by admin: chasing settings for data, assembling quarterly reports from spreadsheets, managing stock requests over email and WhatsApp, and manually tracking who needs follow-up.
MDConnect doesn't just make these tasks faster. It makes it possible for a team of 1–2 to properly manage a programme that would otherwise need 3–4. For a programme with a £100,000 annual contract, Essential represents around 4.4% of contract value. Professional represents around 7.1%. That's not a software cost — that's a staffing investment without the headcount.

Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about plans and billing.
What does the 12-month agreement mean?
+MDConnect subscriptions run on a 12-month minimum term. This reflects how supervised brushing programmes operate — they run across academic years, not month to month. You can pay monthly or annually (annual billing gives you 1 month free). After the initial 12 months, your agreement renews annually unless you cancel with 30 days' notice before renewal.
Are prices inclusive of VAT?
+No. All prices are displayed ex-VAT. VAT is charged separately at the prevailing rate (currently 20%). Local authority buyers reclaim VAT, so the ex-VAT figure is your real cost. If your organisation cannot reclaim VAT, add 20% to the displayed price.
What does "per programme" mean?
+One subscription covers your entire supervised brushing programme — all your schools, nurseries, and early years settings under one Local Authority or contract. If you manage programmes across multiple separate LAs, each needs its own subscription (or contact us about Enterprise).
How are settings counted?
+Each participating year group or class counts as a separate setting. If a school has both a nursery class and a reception class in the programme, that counts as two settings — because participation data and OHID reporting are tracked separately for each.
What's the difference between Essential and Professional?
+Essential gives you everything needed to run a supervised brushing programme properly — up to 100 settings, session monitoring, stock management, government reporting, training modules, incident reporting, and a full resource library. Professional adds unlimited settings, automation (6 pre-built rules), KPI dashboard, training certification with per-user tracking, self-audit tools, proactive check-ins, analytics and benchmarking, custom reporting, two-way bulletin board, user permissions with task assignment, stock label generation, and priority support.
What happens when my setting count approaches 100 on Essential?
+We'll notify you as you approach the limit and help you transition to Professional. There's no service interruption.
What support is included?
+Essential includes a 2-week onboarding period with dedicated setup support, plus ongoing email support and technical assistance. Professional adds priority response times with a dedicated support queue and early access to new features.
Can I upgrade from Essential to Professional?
+Yes, at any time. We'll prorate the difference for the remainder of your agreement.
Can I pay by invoice?
+Yes. Annual subscriptions can be invoiced. Contact us to arrange.
When would I need Enterprise?
+Enterprise is for organisations managing supervised brushing across multiple Local Authorities. You get consolidated cross-LA reporting, a dedicated account manager, SLA guarantees, bespoke feature development, and volume pricing. Enterprise is where MDConnect builds around your programme, not the other way round.
Supervised brushing programmes exist for one reason: to reduce tooth decay in young children.
MDConnect is built by a dental team delivering a live programme. We understand the pressures because we work within them every day. Early access places are limited — book your spot to secure dedicated onboarding support.
